The Mission of South Central Transit (SCT) is to provide safe, reliable and cost-effective public transportation to the citizens of the communities we serve. We are committed to enhancing economic development and quality of life through affordable, accessible transportation services. Our SCT team pledges to provide courteous service to our customers and aggressively meet the changing needs of our region.

We are located at 1616 East McCord in Centralia. Our building was formally owned by the Coca-Cola company, and you may recognize it as the “Coke Building”.

We also have offices in Mt. Vernon, Breese, DuQuoin and West Frankfort so that we can provide the best and most responsive service where you live.

Trolley Rental

The trolley can be seen at Centralia festivals and activities and is colorfully covered in images of a few of our recreational and historic features. Those interested in chartering the trolley are encouraged to complete the Trolley Charter Agreement.

Centralia Municipal Airport is a general aviation facility owned and operated by the City of Centralia. This facility provides air freight and charter passenger services connecting to major commercial airports such as Lambert-St. Louis International Airport, Chicago O’Hare International Airport, etc. The north-south primary runway is 5001 feet long and accommodates corporate aircraft used by several of the local industrial firms and businesses in the area. The fixed-base operator (FBO) at the Airport is Airgo, Inc. which operates a flight training school.

The Centralia Amtrak Station includes an enclosed waiting area, short-term/long-term parking and wheelchair accessibility. A ticket office is not available.
