“Juneteenth” celebration and picnic will be held at Laura Leake Park on June 16th from 11:30 to 2:30pm. Festivities include Bingo, Games and Other Fun Family Activities. Complimentary food and beverages will be provided and specialty sandwiches will be available for purchase. Program starts at 11:30 a.m. with the cookout starting at 12 p.m.
Veteran’s parade on West Broadway starting at the RR tracks and heading west on Broadway ending at Fairview Park. Enjoy an awards ceremony, recognition and celebration activities in the park. Take a drive through Foundation Park to experience twinkling candy canes, golfing Santa, or Rudolf catching some rays. Don’t forget to visit 600 N Pleasant for more Christmas displays and the challenge of finding “Wanda”! Open from 5:00 p.m. to 11 p.m. each night at no charge. Don’t miss Santa who will be at his cottage on Friday’s and Saturdays from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.. For even more fun, make plans to ride the “Little Obie” train through the park on certain evenings during the month of December.
